Elementary Lesson Program Registrations
Students at all four elementary schools had available instruments demonstrated to them at school assemblies on Sept. 18. Students in Grade 3 can now start learning how to play string instruments in our after-school lesson program run taught by teachers from the Dedham School of Music. Violin, viola, and cello groups lessons are available. Students in grades 4 and 5 may also start string lessons, or choose to join the Dedham band program by learning flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, or percussion.
We are also offering ensemble lessons for 4th and 5th grade students who took group lessons in the past. You can get more info by opening and reading this flyer. All registration are being done online by visiting: DPS Elementary Instrumental Lessons. DPS offers scholarships for eligible students. Financial Aid and Loaner Instruments can be requested right on the log in site. They are limited so apply early. Instrument Rental night will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd in the DHS Auditorium from 5 to 6:30.
It is recommended that families complete the rental agreement before Rental Night. Band instruments can be rented from Music and Arts. String Instruments from Johnson Strings. Any questions about this program should be directed to Amy Fichera, Executive Director of the Dedham School of Music at: email@example.com. The band, led by Senior Drum Majors Laura Berry and Amelia Layne performed at a recent home football game and showed the crowd how far they have come since Band Camp in August. Their first competition is at Wakefield HS on October 13th.
