District Art Show

The community is still talking about the amazing work of so many students on display at the annual District Art Show.  Congratulations to all students for their artistic achievements, and a big thank you to art teachers across their district for all they do to turn Dedham Middle School into an art gallery for one memorable evening. We have posted photos of all the art work in the art categories in the sidebar.

The DHS Spring Concert provided a memorable night as the community recognized retiring Fine Arts Director Jeff Bolduc. Besides the concert, Mr. Bolduc was recognized by State Rep. Paul McMurtry, Principal Forrest, and the Music Association for his service to the school district, and for the growth in the Fine Arts programs in his time here.  Students presented a slide show from so many events, and the night was capped off with a performance by returning band alumni who performed “What Is Hip?’, one of Mr. B’s favorite jazz charts. We have posted a slide show of the night in the HS Music category in the sidebar.

The DHS Performing Arts Company presented their spring productions for an excited crowd of theater enthusiasts.  The opening 1-Act play ‘I Don’t Want To Talk About It’  was directed by DHS Junior Annalisa Ray. The second play was an original script by Junior Dean Boecher titled: ‘Elliot Hill’.  This world premier performance featured Dean in the lead role. Thanks to the cast and crew of both shows and for another successful year of live theater at DHS. We have posted slide shows of both productions.

As always, the end of the school year will give students in all schools a chance to share their musical achievements for family, friends, and the entire community. The Riverdale School will hold their Spring Concerts on Monday, May 20TH at 11 and 2. Dedham Middle School will hold their band concert on Tuesday, May 21st, with the choral and string groups performing on May 23rd. Both concerts start at 7pm. The public is invited to attend the other elementary concerts: Avery – June 6, Greenlodge – June 7, and Oakdale – June 12.
