We begin the winter concert season with the annual All-Town Band Concert. The concert has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 14th. The concert will begin at 7pm in the DHS gym and feature 5 bands from all schools. The evening will culminate with a combined performance by students in the elementary Beginner Band, the All-Town 5th Grade Band, the DMS Concert and Symphonic Bands, and the DHS Concert Band (below). Optional donations are accepted at the door. The audience is encouraged to enter through the gym doors at DHS, by the Avery school. Performing students need to be in their warm up areas by 6:15.
Throughout the concert, we will draw prizes for the Many-Ways-to-Win raffle. Here is the final prize list.-> Tickets are being sold by HS music students, and will be available at the door before the concert. Proceeds benefit DHS music programs.

Last month we congratulated DHS junior Joshua Wilson for being chosen to represent Dedham at the MMEA Eastern District music festival. In late January, Josh auditioned for the All-State chorus and was accepted! Josh will sing in the Massachusetts All-State HS Chorus at Symphony Hall on March 3rd. This is quite an honor and we are very proud of this well deserved accomplishment.
The Dedham High School Class of 2018 has announced that the annual Senior Musical will be The Wizard of Oz. Students are excited to bring to life the story of Dorothy’s adventure in the land of Oz, and her eventual return to Kansas with the help of so many memorable characters. Director Nate Haywood has been busy getting the cast to follow the yellow brick road towards amazing performances on March 16 and 17. Check back here as the show approaches for ticket info.
Both of our competitive winter groups will begin their season in February. The <- DHS Winter Percussion ensemble will be defending their 2017 New England championship in Scholastic A class. Their program is titled ‘Psycho Suburbia’ and promises to entertain the audience with music, dancers, and an unexpected twist at the end of their show. The Winter Guard-> has produced a circus themed show called ‘The Greatest Show Unearthed’. Complete with a ringmaster and many props, the guard has been perfecting their show as they enter NESBA competition. Both groups will perform in The New England Championships in the spring.
