Riverdale Staff in front of the Pinwheels

Riverdale 5th grade

Our elementary school participated in the annual Pinwheels for Peace program on September 21st. Under the leadership of DPS Art Teachers, art students and their teachers created individual pinwheels that were displayed both in and out of school buildings.  They also held Peace assemblies to celebrate the day. Thanks to art teachers and elementary Principals for supporting this event each year, and congratulations to students for some great work.

musicOur elementary lesson program has started, with students in all four elementary schools enrolled in group lessons for string and band instruments. This year, returning students will belong to all-town elementary band and orchestra ensembles. These groups will be conducted by DSM Director Jeff Daniels and allow students with some experience to improve their skills as part of a larger ensemble. Thee groups will meet at the middle school every Tuesday evening.
