Welcome Back 2014

imagesWelcome to another new school year. The artists and performers of the Dedham Public Schools are eager to present their talents to the community throughout the coming school year. Please visit the calendar link above to mark your calendar and come out to support all of our student achievements.

We would like to welcome DHS Art teacher Amy Dolan to the Dedham Fine Arts faculty. Ms. Dolan will be teaching photography, graphic design, and Intro to Art. If you are looking for specific info from any teacher, visit their online Blackboard account within each school’s website. You can also email them directly. 150185506The Dedham High School Marching Band and Color Guard finished up band camp the week before school opened. This year’s halftime presentation is called ‘Summer of Love’ and features the music of Jefferson Airplane. The band will perform at the first home game on Friday, September 19th.

We will begin instrument demos for our elementary lesson program early this month. Students in 3rd grade will have the chance to choose from violin, viola, or cello. Fifth graders district-wide will be shown the flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and percussion. This program, run cooperatively by the Dedham Public Schools and the Dedham School of Music, will allow these students to begin their journey as a member of our band and orchestra programs. Information will be sent home including a link to the online registration area, or CLICK HERE. Instrument rental night will be held on Thursday, September 25.
