Our students and faculty have been busy celebrating the season in many ways leading up to vacation. Concerts around the district featured the talents of so many students as they performed for classmates and families at each school. You can see pictures from the ->DHS Concert in the sidebar. Audio can be found on the DHS Band site.

Ms. Altone has shared a great list of vacation activities for kids that focus on the arts. You can open and view ->her post here. If you are still looking for gift ideas, check out our ->Music Gift Guide for last minute ideas. Theater and concert opportunities are everywhere to bring your children. Exposing students to live music, or a trip to a world-class museum are invaluable in the development their artistic sensibility.

Joe Borsellino, Andra Dean, Noah Littman

We’d like to publicly recognize three DHS Juniors for being accepted into the MMEA Eastern District senior music festival. Twelve students auditioned in November with students from high schools all over eastern Mass. Andra Dean was accepted into the orchestra as a cellist. Tenor saxophonist Joseph Borsellino and trombonist Noah Littman will be members of the concert band at the festival held in Boston on January 9 and 10. Joe Borsellino was also recommended to audition for the Mass. All-State band. These auditions will be held in late January.

IMG_0927We are very proud of all our students who performed at various Dedham Holiday events. The Holiday Stroll, multiple performances at the Dedham Savings Bank holiday concerts, and other community events throughout December featured the talents of musicians at every grade level. Congrats to all students and thanks to their music teachers for providing holiday entertainment to so many Dedham residents. DSCN3640
