The Dedham High School Class of 2015 will present Legally Blonde, The Musical, on March 13th and 14th at 7pm in the Dunne Auditorium at DHS. The Senior class has been working since December to fine tune this popular musical to perform for family, friends, and the greater Dedham community. All proceeds benefit the Class of 2015. Tickets are $15. for adults and $8. for seniors and students. They can be purchased in the main office of Dedham High School.
The Dedham High School Winter Guard and Winter Percussion ensembles have started their 2015 competitive season and will be participating in shows sponsored by the New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) throughout March. They will represent Dedham at the New England Championships at the end of the season. The NESBA Percussion finals will be at Dartmouth HS on March 28th, and the NESBA Guard finals will be at Salem HS on April 4th. Good luck to the members and their coaching staffs.
The DHS Drama Guild participated in the statewide METG Dramafest on February 28th. Their play, Everything I Needed to Know I Learned By Being In A Bad Play, was well received by the 8 participating schools at the Norwood regional. Alex Smith and Maddie Curran were recognized for their outstanding performances. Congratulations to the cast, crew, and Mr. Nick for a great day of theater.
The All-Town Band Concert will be held at Dedham Middle School on Tuesday, March 17th at 7pm. This concert will feature band students from grades 5 through 12 as well as the only local performances by the DHS Winter Guard and Percussion ensembles. The night will conclude with a combined performance by all band students. Donations will be accepted at the door.
The annual Don Heald Night of Jazz will also be held at Dedham Middle School on Wednesday, April 1st. Jazz Bands and choral groups from the middle and high schools will perform along with student groups. This event, in honor of longtime DMS band director Don Heald, continues to be a highlight of the concert calendar.
The Dedham Music Association will once again hold a spring recycle event on Saturday, April 11th from 9am until noon. Items can be dropped off at the side parking lot of Dedham Middle School for a fee. Residents can also request to have their items picked up by calling ahead.
