Our concert season started with the very successful All-Town Choral Concert on April 29th. A packed house witnessed the talents of almost 300 singers performing for family and friends. Featuring students from grades 5 to12, each group presented a varied repertoire of popular, classical, folk, and Broadway selections. Thanks to choral directors Bryan Bigelow, Heather Kirby, William Nicholson, Maria Price, and Jeff Taylor for their contributions to the success of this annual event.

Our high school art students continue to take a lead role in bringing the Dedham Little Library Project to life around town. This project began in the spring of 2014 and is getting into full gear this year. These small outdoor libraries were built by the DHS wood shop, and are being designed and painted by high school art students and adult artists in the community. The first library is already installed in front of Town Hall. Want to donate a book? Looking for a good summer read? Having a Little Library in every neighborhood will make that possible. Thanks to Mr. Dwyer and Ms. O’Sullivan for coordinating this with Peter Reynolds and the Dedham Little Library Committee.
Many of our artists will have work showcased at the District Art Show on May 21st. This annual art exhibit features art from students at every grade level. The show will also feature musical performances throughout the evening and is a memorable event every year. Join us at Dedham Middle School from 5 to 8 to celebrate the talents of hundreds of Dedham students.
The Music Association supports programs and events throughout the year, paying contest fee’s for all our competitive groups, offering two scholarships to graduating students, and organizing parental support throughout the school year. All of their efforts are greatly appreciated and we couldn’t provide all these programs without their continued support. If you are interested in getting more involved with the Music Association, contact President Mary Thakur at email@example.com.
