Autumn brings many performances to all Dedham Public Schools in the coming weeks. The DHS Drama Club presented a series of short plays with Neil Simon’s The Good Doctor in mid-November. Many students had the opportunity to display their dramatic or comedic talents with this play, set in Russia and based on the writings of Anton Chekhov. Congratulations to all students and Director Liz Carlson. You can see the program and a photo gallery from the production in the DHS Drama Guild category in the sidebar.
Dedham Middle School will present their Fall drama production on December 2nd and 3rd at 7pm. The performance will feature two plays, Small Actors, directed by DHS Sophomore Julian Buitrago, and Whodunit, directed by DHS Junior Michael Curvin. Small Actors features a student who gets a small part in her school production of Romeo & Juliet, but tells her parents, who will be away, that she got the lead. Of course they cancel their plans and invite everyone they know to see their daughter in the play. Whodunit? is a murder/mystery that involves the audience and the detectives in the play to solve the onstage murder. Tickets are $5. and can be purchased at the door each evening.
We then present Holiday Concerts throughout December.

The DHS Band and AVE Chorus continue preparations for their NYC performance in May. They just released the second Celtics ticket fundraiser flyer, posting available dates in early 2016. Anyone interested in purchasing Celtics tickets through the music department can print out the <- flyer and send it to Fine Arts Director Jeff Bolduc at DHS by the due date listed for each game.
There will also be a fundraiser held at UNO’s restaurant on December 16. A portion of the proceeds from the entire day will be donated to the trip fund. Patrons need to present this coupon -> to their server for the meal to count. Please consider supporting this trip as our students represent the Town of Dedma at one of America’s most prominent icons. You can also donate directly to the trip fund by contacting band director Jeff Bolduc.
