Hooray for May!

The Spring Concert season begins with the DHS Concert on May 16th. This concert will feature the band, chorus, jazz band, and string ensemble. The concert begins at 7 in the Dunne Auditorium, donations accepted at the door.

The largest event on the Fine Arts calendar is the District Art Show on May 18th. Doors at the middle school will be open from 5:30 to 8. Art work from grades pre-K to 12 will be on display in this gallery setting. Music will be provided by the Dedham Middle School Jazz Band, and a few community arts groups will be present to share their summer youth programs with anyone interested.

The DMS Concerts will be held on May 23 and 25.  The Bands will be featured on 5/23, while chorus and strings perform at the 5/25/ event.  Riverdale Concerts will be held on 5/26, followed by Oakdale on 6/7, Greenlodge on 6/13, and Avery on 6/16.

Finally, the Fine Arts department wishes DHS Principal Ron McCarthy the best of luck as he leaves Dedham for a Principal position in Florida. Mr. McCarthy has been a big supporter of the arts in Dedham, and the growth of the art, band, and theater programs at Dedham High School would not have been possible without his guidance.
