March Highlights – Part 2

The All Town Chorus Concert will be held in The Dunne Auditorium at DHS on Wednesday, March 21. The concert will feature students from grades 5 to 12 and end with almost 300 students combining for a memorable finale. The concert starts at 7 and donations will be accepted at the door.

The following week will feature the rescheduled elementary Family Night of Folk Dance on Monday, March 26th. This event invites students from grades K-5 to share dances from around the world with students from the ECEC and all four elementary schools. Parents are invited to not only attend, but participate in the dances. Teachers will introduce the steps for each song before leading everyone through each dance. The event will be in the Riverdale gym from 5:30 to 7.

The very next night, Dedham Middle School will host the annual Don Heald Night of Jazz. This tribute concert will feature the DMS and DHS Jazz Bands along with the DHS Chamber Choir. The concert starts at 7. Donations will be accepted at the door with all proceeds being donated to the ALS foundation in Mr. Heald’s name.

Special recognition to DHS freshman Katie Arbodela-> for being selected to the MMEA Eastern Jr. District chorus. Katie represented Dedham at the annual music festival with students from over 100 area schools.

Dedham Middle School will present their musical, Shrek, on April 4, 5, and 6. The cast and crew have been memorizing their lines and polishing the musical numbers as they approach opening night.

Congrats to the Class of 2018 for their production of The Wizard of Oz. The annual Senior Musical was presented to large crowds and featured so many memorable songs and impressive dance numbers. Special thanks to Director Nate Haywood and Sr. Class Advisors Melissa Jacques and Jillian Sullivan for all the their time and efforts to make this such a great experience for the cast and crew.
