The DHS Art Club finished their multigenerational community project with the unveiling of the finished mural painted at Newbridge On The Charles in May. Club advisor and DHS art teacher Courtney Teixeira has led the group to visit Newbridge almost every week since January to design and paint the mural, titled ‘Windows On Nature’. Working with community artist Tova Speter, the design offers an imagined look through windows to the natural beauty of the Charles River and hopes to bring the peace and energy of nature to all who pass by.
May ended with Spring Concerts at DMS and Greenlodge, and the annual <-District Art Show. We have posted a photo gallery of all the art work for those who couldn’t attend or want to revisit all the extraordinary work of our art students and their teachers. You can see it by clicking here.
On behalf of Fine Arts teachers and students – have a safe and restful summer!!
