Fall Happenings

The DHS Performing Arts Company will present their fall production of Peter and the Star Catcher on November 9 and 10 at 7pm in the Dunne Auditorium at DHS. The play, written by Rick Alice will showcase the talents of our high school drama students.  Tickets are $12., $10. for seniors and students and can be purchased at the door or at ticketstage.com.

The Fine Arts Department would like to welcome new teachers to our faculty.  Middle School art teacher Jennifer Tausevich is in her first year of teaching and will teach elective classes this year. She has a degree from Bridgewater State University and has been a Photographer for years before coming to Dedham to teach.  Chris Molinaro is graduate of Gordon College and will teach music at Oakdale and Greenlodge Schools. He will also conduct the Oakdale choruses.

The DHS Marauder Marching Band begins it competitive season on October 13th at Wakefield. Competing in Division 1 of the New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) they will also perform at a MICCA competition at Norwood HS on October 21, back to NESBA in Reading on October 27, and finishing their season at the New England Championships in Lawrence on November 4th. Good luck to the entire band and guard as they present their 2018 program: Pirates.

Art teachers across the district continue to expand their use of Artsonia, the online art gallery where students can post their work and share with their families and the online community.  We continue to add artwork and hopefully parents have seen the info to sign their family up.
