We are proud to announce that the DHS Winter Percussion group is once again New England Champions. The group took the Class AA Concert Percussion title at the NESBA finals at Dartmouth HS on April 6th. Their show ‘A Midwinter’s Day Dream’ earned them a score of 93.1 topping 4 other groups. Congratulations to Head Coach Mark Sachetta and the entire group for capturing their second title in three years.
The Winter Guard also finished a strong season in the Scholastic Regional A class at NESBA finals. Their score of 90.18 put them in 3rdplace out of eleven groups. Congratulations to all the members and the new coaching staff for the impressive growth and improvement achieved throughout the 2019 season.
Music students across the district finished the All-Town Concert series with the All-Town Choral and String concerts in late March. As always, the choral event featured hundreds of students who <- sang as one to end the evening. The String Concert at DMS featured <- beginner students, and ensembles and soloists from the middle and high school groups. You can always see videos of school events posted by Dedham TV.
Dedham Middle School’s production of The Little Mermaid sold out all three nights and audience members raved about the cast’s presentation of this Disney classic. Directors Chris Nadeau and Jeff Daniels once again led a talented cast and crew in preparing music, sets, lighting, sound, and choreography that dazzled the crowd. Thanks for a great night of musical theater.
