Dedham High School

Maureen O’Sullivan – Art; Ms. O’Sullivan as been teaching in Dedham since 2000. Prior to teaching in the high school, she taught art at Riverdale and Greenlodge. She received her B.F.A. in Art Education from Boston University and her M.Ed from Lesley University.  Ms. O’Sullivan holds three licenses: Visual Arts (PreK-9), (5-12) and Elementary Education (1-6).  Over the years she has taught various after school art programs and currently is active with Massachusetts Art All State. In her spare time she enjoys taking classes at New England School of Photography; concentrating on black and white film photography.

Courtney Teixeira – Art; Ms. Teixeira received her B.F.A. in Sculpture and M.A. in Studio Art Teaching from Boston University. She holds two licenses: Visual Arts PreK-8 and Visual Arts 5-12. Ms. Teixeira is teaching Art 1, Principles of Design, and Ceramics at Dedham High School. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, traveling, and creating artwork.

Amy Vega – Art; Mrs. Vega received her BA in Studio Art at UMass Amherst, teaching certificate at MassArt, and is currently working towards her MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She is teaching Art I, Photography, and Graphic Design at Dedham High School. In her spare time, she enjoys the beach, playing polo, and going on adventures with friends, family, and her amazing pets.

Jeff Bolduc – Band; Director of Fine Arts. Mr. Bolduc holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Composition from Berklee College of Music and a Masters Degree in Music Education from Boston University.  He is an active arranger/composer of instrumental and broadcast/media music and regularly serves as a judge for music festivals throughout New England.  Mr. Bolduc performs trombone in, and arranges, for the Boston based 10-piece R & B band, Soul Revival Orchestra.  He is an avid Boston sports fan, enjoys photography, and cooking for his family and friends.

Nate Haywood – Chorus; Theater, Drama Club.   Mr. Haywood serves as the conductor for the Concert Choir and the Advanced Vocal Ensemble (AVE) Along with this, he serves as the Director/Producer  of the After-school Drama Club, which is excited to announce their rebranded name and logo later this school year! He received a BM in Music Education at Gordon College, and his M.M.Ed from Anderson University, SC. Mr. Haywood is an active musician. Current member of the New England Choral Ensemble Lyricora, he performs 2 major concerts series per year, as well as leading High School Choral Workshops. Some of his notable Directing credits include, Guys and Dolls, Once Upon a Mattress, Footloose, Legally Blonde, YAGMCB. When Mr. H. is not performing or singing you can catch him DJing  parties all over New England as a professional DJ/Emcee.

Dedham Middle School

Sarah Dundulis – Visual Arts :  Ms. Dundulis has been teaching Visual Arts at the Dedham Middle School since September of 2011.  She received her B.A. in visual art from Gettysburg College. Sarah received her master’s in Visual Art Education from Lesley University and the Art Institute of Boston, upon graduation she received the community citizenship award from Lesley University. Prior to teaching Ms. Dundulis worked in Family Program Development and taught Studio Saturday for the Peabody Essex Museum, worked as the Director of Internal Operations for IPT Associates, and Director of  Events for Artist for Humanities Boston, MA.

Jennifer Tausevich – Art; Miss Tausevich received her BA in Fine Arts from Bridgewater State University. She holds two licenses: Visual Arts PreK-8 and Visual Arts 5-12.  Miss Tausevich is an avid painter, drawer and enjoys hand sculpting with clay. She is active in pursuing these avenues in art by learning under other artists so that she can provide students with a rich education in all art mediums. For the last 15 years she has been a photographer focusing on landscapes and animals. She volunteers her time and talents to PAWS New England a local dog rescue so that these dogs are able to find foster families and adoptive homes. In her spare time she enjoys her family, friend and especially her dogs.

Arlene Tracey – Visual Arts:  Mrs. Tracey has had the pleasure of teaching art to the students in the Dedham Public School for many years.  She has taught at all grade levels working with students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Regis College and a Master in Education from Lesley University.

Jeff Daniels is the Band Director at Dedham Middle School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Environmental Science from Boston College and his Master’s Degree in Music Education from Boston University. Mr. Daniels actively pursues his own musical interests by playing saxophone in the Boston College Symphonic Band and in the Boston College Saxophone Ensemble. Being a native Floridian, Mr. Daniels enjoys playing a round of golf during the summer months  as well as taking hikes through the beautiful outdoors of New Hampshire and Maine. Jeff Taylor – Chorus; Music. Mr. Taylor holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music and a Masters Degree in Music Education from Boston University. He directs the DMS Chorus, and the A Cappella Chorus. He is also the boys basketball coach at DMS.

Prior to teaching he was an active performer on keyboards and vocals in the Boston R&B and Blues scene as a former member of the James Montgomery Band, the Patty Larkin Band and the Taylor Made Band to name a few. He has been on national tours with blues legends the Matt (Guitar) Murphy Band (from the Blues Brothers) and Eddie Shaw and the Wolfgang. He continues to lead the Taylor Brothers Band and is the Music Director for the Sanctuary Choir of the St. James Baptist Church in Woonsocket, RI. Link to Mr. Taylor’s Dedham TV interview.

Elementary Art

Sarah Altone has been teaching Art at Greenlodge and Oakdale Elementary Schools since September 2010. She studied at Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA), where she received a Master of Arts in Teaching, Art Education for grades PreK to 8th. She earned two Bachelor degrees in Studio Arts and Art History from the University of Rochester, where she graduated with the Highest Distinction, as well as Phi Beta Kappa and Cum Laude. Ms. Altone also teaches at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston during the summer and school vacations.

Bridget O’Leary is a Visual Arts Teacher for the Dedham Public Schools.  She teaches at the ECEC and Riverdale School.   She graduated from Merrimack College, in 2008, earning her Bachelors of Arts degree in Studio Art and Art History.  In 2009, she earned her Masters in the Art of Teaching from Tufts University in affiliation with the School of Museum of Fine Arts.  She has taught at the Museum of Fine Art and at various local art programs.

Kristin Prata teaches art Avery and Oakdale, and has worked at every elementary school at some point in her Dedham career.  She received her B.A.E. from UMass Dartmouth and her Masters from Bridgewater State. She enjoys playing with legos and cars and going to playgrounds with her two sons.

Music Teachers

Sara Santos, Chris Molinaro, Heather Kirby

Elementary Music  

Sara Santos is an Elementary Music Teacher in the Dedham School District since 2015 and teaches at Avery and Oakdale Elementary Schools. Previously, she has worked with inner-city students in the Boston and Lynn areas. Preparing independent musicians is her number one goal as a music educator. In her schools she incorporates a research based curriculum of various methods to give a balanced curriculum in her classroom. She constantly seeks out new research from various methods to encourage her musicians musical aptitude in her classroom.

Currently, Ms. Santos serves on the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) All-State NAfME Board as the General Music Representative for the 2017-2019 years. In addition, she holds the position of General Music Coordinator for the MMEA- Eastern District. Ms. Allen is also the Equipment Manager for All-State where she organizes instruments for the All-State Ensembles performances since 2015.

Ms. Santos holds her Masters in Music Education, 2014, and a Undergraduate in Music Education, 2009, from Gordon College, Wenham, MA. In Ms. Santos’s free time you can find her at concerts, playing Bluegrass music, skiing during the winter, and surfing during the summer.

Mrs. Heather Kirby teaches music at Riverdale and the ECEC. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell (1992, BM, cum laude) and Temple University (2005, MM, Phi Kappa Lambda), she also holds Level 2 Certification with the Kodály Music Institute at New England Conservatory and is a faculty member of the Gordon Institute for Music Learning. She is a member of ECMMA (Early Childhood Music and Movement Association), GIML (Gordon Institute for Music Learning), and SGMM (Society for General Music in Massachusetts). Mrs. Kirby maintains an active musical life, too.  She sings at Holy Family Parish in Rockland where she is a regular cantor and sings weddings and funerals, plays cello with the Parkway Concert Orchestra in Norwood, performs with several bands on percussion, keyboard, and vocals, and has recorded on many CDs of local musicians in styles ranging from classical to rock. Of all of her musical endeavors, none is as rewarding as leading children on the path toward a lifetime of joyful music making.

Christopher Molinaro teaches general music at both the Greenlodge and Oakdale elementary schools. He also teaches both the 4th and 5th grade choruses at Oakdale. Mr. Molinaro completed his undergraduate studies at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts in May of 2018 to earn his B.M. in music education. While he studied voice as his major instrument at Gordon, Mr. Molinaro also plays regularly with various instrumental ensembles on trumpet, french horn or percussion. Mr. Molinaro’s goals for his students include creating a love and appreciation for music all while developing their musicianship and encouraging musical achievement.
